Start a Bachelor’s Degree Program at DCCCD

This article appeared in the Feb. 5, 2019, issue of the student newsletter.

The colleges of DCCCD are partnering with New England College (NEC) to make transitioning from your associate to your bachelor's degree easier than ever.

NEC is a regionally accredited, private institution with a 72-year history of providing innovative learning solutions.

This unique opportunity will get you into a bachelor's degree program without ever having to leave DCCCD.

What Does This Mean for You?

NEC faculty will teach bachelor-level courses on-site at several colleges of DCCCD. NEC is planning to offer bachelor completion programs for careers in high demand in the Dallas area:

  • Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity
  • Bachelor of Science in Forensic Accounting

Programs Built To Fit Your Needs

As part of the partnership, NEC will accept all 60 credits you have earned for your associate degree, as well as the potential for transferring up to 30 more credits through additional coursework or prior learning assessments.

Their hybrid programs are designed to fit into your busy schedule, as you will only meet at your college one night per week to complete your bachelor's degree.

Meet With the NEC Team

You will have two chances to meet with the NEC team in February.

  • Richland Cyber Security program info session: Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
  • Eastfield Forensic Accounting program info session: Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

You will have an opportunity to speak with NEC faculty about the programs, including information on the reduced tuition rate.
