If you haven't signed up for health insurance, time is running out. This year's deadline is Dec. 15, so
head over to healthcare.gov if you're still uninsured.
Dec. 15 is the earliest deadline we've ever had, so don't let it sneak up on you!
About 16% of young people – that's you! – are uninsured. The good news is that this number is down from 29% before the Affordable Care Act took effect in 2010. The bad news is 16% is still the highest percentage of uninsured in the country.
Even more, Dallas County features the second-highest number of uninsured young adults in the country at more than 194,000. It's time to change that.
So if you're uninsured, take a look around
healthcare.gov. You may be surprised what you find (you can find reasonably priced health insurance if you make around $25,000 a year!). Protect yourself and make sure you're insured by Dec. 15.
