The Commencement Ceremony on May 14, 2020 will honor the Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and Summer 2020 graduates. No ceremonies are held at the end of the fall or summer semesters. Students who anticipate completing degrees or certificates in the summer with six (6) hours or fewer remaining at the end of the spring semester are eligible and encouraged to attend the May ceremony.

NOTE: Although there is no charge for parking, the number of available spaces is limited. We strongly encourage you to consider carpooling and to arrive as close to the 6:00 PM check-in time as possible.
Ceremony Confirmation Required
If you are a Fall 2019 graduate, or if you will be completing your degree or certificate in the Spring or Summer 2020 semester, you have six (6) or fewer hours remaining at the end of Spring 2020 semester, and you have submitted a Richland College Application for a Certificate or Diploma, then you are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony. The ceremony confirmation link will be emailed starting March 23, 2020 to those students who have met the eligibility requirements stated above. If you wish to attend the ceremony, you must complete the ceremony confirmation, by April 21, 2020 at 11:59 pm.
*Once the ceremony confirmation deadline has passed, you will be unable to attend the 2020 ceremony. However, we would be happy to invite you to the 2021 ceremony.
Your graduate information, containing graduate instructions and guest instructions, will be emailed April 27, 2020. We ask that you read through all the information provided as there will be important information regarding the ceremony, Curtis Culwell rules and regulations, and pertinent guest information. This information will also be available on the Richland College graduate webpage.
Guest tickets will be available for pick-up from April 27 – May 8, 2020 in the Admissions Office in Thunderduck Hall. Our regular hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 PM. All tickets must be picked up by May 8, 2020. After this deadline, any remaining guest tickets being held for those who confirmed by the deadline will be released. We will email a reminder of these dates on the first day tickets are available for pickup. If you need your guest tickets mailed, please follow the instructions in the April 27th email.
NOTE: Guest tickets will only be available for those students who have confirmed attendance for the ceremony.
Cap and Gown
The only cost associated with the ceremony is for the purchase of your graduation tassel, cap, and gown. They will be available for purchase beginning Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in the Richland College Bookstore located on campus in Sabine Hall. The purchase price is $36.97, including tax. Extra tassels may be purchased for $5.42, including tax. Students must present their DCCCD student ID to purchase their cap & gown. Please note: You will not be able to purchase your cap and gown if you have not completed the ceremony confirmation. If you cannot afford to purchase the cap and gown, please contact the Degree Audit department at RLCDegreeAudit@dcccd.edu.
The priority deadline for purchasing your cap and gown is Friday, May 1,
2020 @ 4:00 PM.
NOTE: While your tassel, cap, and gown are yours to keep, if you wish to keep your tassel only, you may donate your cap and gown, to help financially struggling future students. Just drop them off at the Admissions office in Thunderduck Hall during usual business hours after the commencement ceremony.

Honors stoles (for verified Honors students only) will be available for purchase in the Richland College Bookstore for $23.76, including tax. Students must present DCCCD student ID to be verified.
Phi Theta Kappa stole, cord, and/or tassel can be purchased at www.ptk.org. Please note: the medallion is not an approved wearable item for the Commencement Ceremony.
