The Counseling Center offers initial assessments, brief individual counseling, group therapy, workshops and educational presentations on a variety of topics, crisis intervention and walk-in services, and professional consultations to staff, faculty, students and parents. We offer services in an atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable for all students regardless of race, gender, ethnic background, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, citizenship, or physical status.

Licensed Counseling Professionals assist with a range of emotional and social needs; such as:

  • Stress and Feeling Overwhelmed
  • Depression and the Blues
  • Anxiety and Worry
  • Test Anxiety
  • Anger
  • Procrastination and Time Management
  • Loss or Death of Significant Other
  • Alcohol or other Drug Use concerns
  • Disturbances in Eating
  • Relationship Issues or Struggles
  • Adjusting to Change or New Situations
  • Conflicted Life Choices
  • Social Services Referral needs (shelter, food, other crisis situations, etc.)

  • Contact the Counseling Center at 972-238-3771
  • Come to the Lakeside Resource Center in El Paso Hallway, E02; the receptionist can connect you with the counselor on-duty.

After Hours or in case of imminent risk or threat of harm:

  • Call Campus Police at 972-238-4290 from cell, or 911 from campus phone

Off-Campus Mental Health Emergencies:

The Counseling Center staff does NOT provide 24-hour coverage. If you are experiencing an actual mental health emergency and need immediate assistance, call 911
