How can I find out what Honors Classes are being offered?
You can search the Browsable Credit Class Schedule in
eConnect. Honors courses end in 090, 091 or 092 and are identified by an Honors notation.
How are Honors classes different from regular classes?
You can expect your Honors class to have fewer students than a non-Honors section of the same course, which facilitates increased interaction between students and between the professor and students.
Honors classes also incorporate a variety of learning experiences that emphasize critical thinking skills through collaborative learning, development of research skills, growth of personal leadership skills, and advanced of communication skills, both oral and written.
Therefore, you should be prepared to talk more, listen more, read more, and write more. Through these increased interactions, you can expect to experience more engagement with the topics, gain a deeper understanding of the material, and practice discussing and critically thinking about new information and ideas.
Are Richland's Honors courses recognized by four-year institutions?

Are Honors classes harder? Will my GPA be affected by taking them?
Although you will be expected to work hard, Honors classes are not necessarily more difficult than regular classes.
