The Richland College Geology Program enables students to acquire knowledge and develop skills in Geology with an understanding and appreciation of its importance.
Geology is a study of earth processes and materials. This includes such interesting topics as fossils (including dinosaurs), rocks and their formation processes, the water cycle, weather studies, and oceanography. Geology also delves into volcanoes, landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis, and global warming. From geology, we learn how fossil fuels originate, and where they are found today. How does all this affect your life? Come and learn about Earth - past, present and future!
