Katherine Stimson is the owner of K Stimson Events, LLC, a live entertainment and event production firm based in Dallas. Her work experience includes coordinating entertainment and talent for the cruise industry, corporate events and experiential marketing campaigns.

Ms. Stimson holds a Master’s of Music degree in Music Business and Entertainment Industry Studies from the University of Miami, Florida; a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music from York University, Toronto, Canada; and a certificate in meeting and event management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She received the Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) designation from the International Live Events Association (ILEA) in 2014.

Present and past clients include the nationwide Divas Half Marathon & 5k series; the NC Half Marathon and Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon; and Life Time Fitness Athletic Events, the producers of the Miami Marathon, Publix Georgia Marathon; Chicago Half Marathon; First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon, New Jersey Marathon, and the Michelob Ultra 13.1 Marathon series. She also serves as a consultant to A+ Staffing, recruiting experiential marketing staff for events in more than 40 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, including the Super Bowl, the U.S. Open, Futbol Fiest, and the NBA All Star Jam.

Before founding K Stimson Events, she worked as an entertainment, copyright and trademark paralegal for Bennett Law Office, PC, in Lewisville and as a contract processing administrator for Suman Entertainment Group, LLC, in Miami, the largest U.S. based musician recruitment agency for the cruise industry.

At Richland, Ms. Stimson serves as instructor for the TEMM program’s Sports and Festival Marketing and Travel and Event Entrepreneurs courses. Her areas of academic interest include experiential marketing and brand management campaigns; human resources management in the event industry; sharing/access economy and collaborative consumption events; and emerging event production in Cuba. In June 2015, she traveled to Havana, Cienfuegos and Trinidad, Cuba, as part of a National Geographic Cultural Exchange Expedition; she is interested in producing future events in Cuba. She is a member of ProSpeak Toastmasters in Dallas and active in District 50 of Toastmasters International.
