Muhammed “Mo” Manouchehripour

Faculty, Engineering Technology-Advanced Manufacturing  

Muhammed "Mo" Manouchehripour did undergraduate education in technology and industrial management at Ghazali College in Qazvin, Iran, then earned a Master of Business Administration degree and M.S. degree in industrial arts from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. He also holds an Ed.D. degree in industry and technology from Texas A&M University and has done additional postdoctoral education in mathematics at the University of Texas at Dallas. 

He has taught computer literacy, developmental and fundamental mathematics, board drafting, CADD, global economy, fundamentals of business and internships/externship. His teaching experience began as a doctoral student in 1982, when he taught industrial management, woodworking and industrial safety at Texas A&M University-Commerce (formerly East Texas State University) to undergraduate students. 

He taught for two years at the Vocational Trade Institute, three years at the American Trade Institute and 25 years at the Art Institute of Dallas, and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Richland College since 1998. He engages students from a variety of cultural, social and economic backgrounds and enjoys motivating a cross-section of students, including those with developmentally challenged backgrounds. 

Awards include being named "Employee of the Year" at the Art Institute of Dallas in 1995, 2000 and 2005; "Teacher of the Year" at the American Trade Institute in 1988; and "Employee of the Year" at the Vocational Trade Institute in 1987. He has served on various educational committees at the Art Institute, including Alumni Connections Task Force, Community Involvement Task Force, Faculty Development, Students' Success Committee, Technology and Distance Learning. He has consulted in private industry as an instructor and a drafting consultant and is certified in metalworking by NIMS (National Institute for Metal-working Skills). Practical experience comes from his love and talent for woodworking.
