​Ann Chang Butler

Adjunct Faculty, Teacher Preparation Program

Ann Chang Butler became an adjunct faculty member in the Teacher Preparation Program and for the Learning Framework course at Richland in 2017.  She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a master's degree in special and general education from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York.  She is pursuing a doctorate in higher education from Texas A&M University-Commerce.  

After working in the financial sector for three years, Ms. Butler moved to New York City to pursue her passion in teaching, joining the prestigious New York City Teaching Fellows program. She served as a special educator for children with special needs and for exceptional children with the New York City Board of Education, and taught at a bilingual preschool in Dallas. She also teaches ESL to adult learners in the Richardson ISD and teaches a fifth- and sixth grade- writing class on Sundays.

She is Texas- and New York- certified in early childhood, special education and general education. She also holds a principal certification from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is a member of the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education (TALAE) and the Richland Adjunct Faculty Association (RAFA).
