Sociology is the scientific study of human society, including ways in which groups, social institutions, and individuals affect each other. Sociology courses may include an introductory to sociology, social problems, marriage and the family, human sexuality, minority studies, social psychology, criminology, and drug use and abuse.

Sociology courses are listed under the four-letter rubrics (course prefixes) SOCI and SOCW.

Taking sociology classes at Richland College is an affordable way to get started on a path to a brighter future. Whether you’re taking classes to transfer to a four-year college or university, or for personal enrichment, our sociology curriculum will give you the foundational skills you need.
