Music Auditions in the Richland College Music Program are for the purposes of hearing students who wish to be music majors, minors, or participants in the Department, awarding music scholarships, placing students in ensembles, providing familiarity with Richland College music teaching concepts, and becoming aware of prospective students’ past experiences.
Auditions occur formally on the 3 Richland Music Audition Days each year as well as by appointment on other occasions. Post-Audition Advising and a facilities tour occur after the audition as well. The Richland College Music Audition Information Form must be filled out by the students prior to the Audition on site at the check-in. The presiding faculty member will fill out the Richland College Music Audition Comment Sheet and provide short feedback upon hearing the audition material. Students will be notified of the official entrance, placement, and scholarship results in written form by the end of the Audition period each academic year.
