Cathy Breden

Cathy Breden is adjunct faculty for the Introduction to Exposition and Trade Show Management course at Richland College. Cathy has taught the course both on campus and online since 2016. She is the current Executive Vice President & COO, International Association of Exhibitions and Events and also serves in the role of Chief Executive Officer, Center for Exhibition Industry Research. Her background and knowledge gained as an executive with the leading global association in the trade show industry provide a practical perspective to students. Her business travels and speaking engagements take her overseas several times a year adding to her unique perspective. She is passionate about trade shows, especially, and their impact on the global economy.

Cathy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with an Emphasis in Association Management from Florida State University. In addition, she holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation and the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation.

Cathy enjoys giving back to the industry that has provided her with an incredible career by serving on the Event Industry Council Board of Directors, a federation of 33 associations representing the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions industry. Her teaching the course at Richland is another way she gives back, and she considers it an honor to share her knowledge and passion with those who are the future employees of the industry. She is an editor and contributed content to the Art of the Show, an Introduction to the Study of Exhibition Management, Fifth Edition, which is the textbook used in class.

Lori Clark

Lori Clark
Director of Global Sales, Premier Transportation

Lori has over 30 years of hospitality experience. She is an accomplished sales leader with strengths in developing client relationships and long-term growth. Lori has over 12 years in the chauffeured transportation segment and over three at Premier. She spent many years in the hotel business and a stint in corporate relocation. Her passion outside of work is connecting people (the networking queen) and her three children, her sorority and traveling. In 2018 she taught a night class in Tourism at Richland College. Lori was at a point in life where she had time to give back. Teaching her passion is a gift. As a graduate of UT Arlington, her journalism degree comes in handy with the writing done to prepare for classes.

Jay Luippold

Jay Luippold
Adjunct Faculty

Since the fall of 2000, Jay Luippold has been a member of the HEEM faculty at Richland College. He holds a Bachelor of Science in English Education from New York University. Prior to his tenure at Richland, Jay has taught at Brookhaven College of the Dallas County Community College.

Jay has instructed students at Richland in Travel Marketing, Intro to Travel and Tourism, and Destinations – Eastern and Western Hemisphere.

Over the past thirty-eight years, Jay has been employed at American Airlines in a variety of management positions including Director of Meeting and Incentive Travel, SABRE, and Reservations. Most recently, he has served as the Director of the American Airlines Training & Conference Center as well as the Executive Director of the Airline’s C.R. Smith Museum.
