Proper training and socialization are basic but important needs
that can guide your dog or puppy along the path to good behavior.

The dog obedience program offers two options, depending on your dog’s age and existing training:

At-a-Glance – Dog Obedience

Age requirement: 6 months or older
Hours: 8

In this course, you will learn techniques for teaching your dog to walk by your side, sit, come to you on command, stay in place and have people approach them. Dogs should be brought to the first class, along with written proof of their rabies vaccination.

At-a-Glance – Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

Age requirement: 1 year or older
Hours: 8

In this course, you will learn techniques for teaching your dog to become a Canine Good Citizen. Your dog must already know basic commands, like:

  • sit
  • down
  • stay

They should also be comfortable walking on a leash, accepting friendly strangers, coming when called, accepting grooming and more. Upon completion of the course, you and your pooch can complete the CGC test to receive your certificate. Dogs should be brought to the first class, along with written proof of their rabies vaccination.
