Ms. Franklin has been with UT since 2003, first managing projects for Facilities, Planning & Operations. She transitioned into a new role as Director of the Office for Sustainability shortly after receiving her certification as a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design Accredited Professional), in 2008 becoming the founder of one of the first sustainability offices in the University of Texas System.
Ms. Franklin holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Monterrey N.L., Mexico, and a certificate in global sustainability from the University of Vermont.
Kevin is a thought leader in the field of sustainability, having taught at over seven different universities and written four acclaimed books, including: “Return on Sustainability: How Business Can Increase Profitability & Address Climate Change in an Uncertain Economy,” “Making Sustainability Stick,” and “An Introduction to Sustainable Business.” He is on the cutting edge of online teaching, as he has successfully “flipped the classroom” with his multimedia online materials and videos that have made the online experience much more student-friendly.
Kevin brings more than 20 years of experience working with 120+ businesses with clients including Amazon, Nordstrom, Expedia, REI, Alaska Airlines, Whole Foods and The North Face.
