Good afternoon! The holiday season is here, and I want to spend a few moments sharing my thanks with you for a great year of service.

We've made a difference in people's lives - especially our students and in the communities we serve.

We've undertaken some innovative projects that require teamwork, planning and dedication - like second chance Pell, Equip, Texas Guided Pathways and our new collegiate academies.

These projects serve traditional and nontraditional students alike. Our academic programs - as well as those like Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, Project On-Ramp and other efforts - serve students and the business community, too.

The growth of our higher education network continues to expand, thanks to your help and ideas. And our student success initiative is critical as we find more ways to serve our students' needs.

Listening to and acting on their experiences help us remove barriers and build bridges to college credentials, careers and community support.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you - faculty, staff and administrators - for working every day to support our students, your colleges and this district.

As you prepare for the holiday break, please know how much you and your efforts are appreciated.

While we have finished finals and our preparations for the holidays, I hope that you will spend quality time with your family and friends during the next two weeks.

Have a joyous holiday season as we look forward to a successful new year.
