The registration process is different depending on the type of classes you want to take.

See our Continuing Education Registration page if you want to sign up for our noncredit classes to improve your job skills or for personal enrichment.

Registering for Credit Classes

After you have completed the application, pre-advisingassessment and advisement process, you can register for credit classes in one of two ways:

1. In person

Visit the Admissions/Registrar’s Office at the college you plan to attend.

If you are new to the colleges of DCCCD, we strongly recommend that you register in person so you can get information about course prerequisites, the degrees we offer, the Texas Success Initiative (TSI), tuition and other important topics.

2. Online

If you are eligible, you can register online through eConnect. (View online registration requirements.)

Before you register, check our class schedules to see the credit courses offered for the upcoming term. Schedules are available online two weeks before priority registration begins.

Registration Dates

May Term/Summer/Fall registration begins in April:

  • Tuesday, April 21: Priority registration starts (for returning students).
  • Monday, April 27: Regular registration begins (for all students).
  • Wednesday, Aug. 19: Last day to register for Fall (for 16-week classes)

If you miss registration for semester-length classes, don’t forget that you can still register for Flex Term classes.

Register early to get the best selection of classes. The date your tuition is due depends on the date you register — see Payment Due Dates for more information.

Stop Before You Drop

Under Texas law (TEC Section 51.907), if you drop too many classes without having an acceptable reason, your GPA could be affected. Be sure you understand how this law may affect you before you drop a class.

This law applies to students who enroll in a Texas public institution of higher education (including Richland College) for the first time in fall 2007 or later. Under this law, you may not drop more than six classes without an acceptable reason during your entire undergraduate career without penalty. For more information, please see our catalog or read Facts About Dropping Classes.
