Friday Morning Opening Session – Keynote Address

Dr. R. Michael Mike Flores

This year's MSI Convening features a Keynote Address during the Friday morning Opening Session by Dr. R. Michael "Mike" Flores, President of Palo Alto College, one of the Alamo Colleges in San Antonio. Dr. Flores serves as an Achieving the Dream Data Coach and has led many new initiatives since becoming president of Palo Alto College in 2012. Providing access for the community to education has been key since the beginning for Palo Alto College, and Dr. Flores is committed to continuing partnerships with area businesses, community organizations, and schools to achieve that goal. He continues to empower students for success through a variety of resources on campus through high impact teaching and learning practices including usage of academic advising, learning communities, new student orientation, and problem-based learning. We invite you to join us on Friday, October 20, to hear Dr. Flores speak about the challenges and opportunities for data-focused initiatives in improving success of minority students in higher education.
