Description

According to the World Tourism Organization, "Tourism comprises the activities of persons traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure business and other purposes." Many different careers are available in tourism and travel management. For each element of travel and tourism (i.e. attractions, cruises, transportation, group tours, etc.), someone is costing the product, selling the experience, coordinating the logistics, processing the reservation, providing customer service and much more.

Job Outlook

Tourism is the third largest industry in the United States.

Salary

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, salary ranges for Travel range from $24,660 - $65,060.
