TEMM Student Travel & Professional Development Fund (Cortina Fund)

The Joe Cortina Travel, Exposition, and Meeting Management Student Travel and Professional Development Fund is a new fund at Richland College. This fund was established and named after a professor at Richland College who is a supporter of the TEMM program. This fund offers Travel, Exposition and Meeting Management students access to funds for Travel and Professional Development. The funds, awarded from $10 to $200, may be used to help TEMM students with payment or partial payment for:

  • Registration fees for conferences and seminars
  • Transportation expenses to conferences and seminars
  • Admission fees for expositions and conventions
  • Admission fees
  • Fees for familiarization trips

The goal of the fund is to encourage individual and/or small groups of students in the TEMM program to supplement their educational experience by participating in events in addition to regularly scheduled class field trips and activities. This fund may NOT be used for:

  • Awards (trophies or plaques)
  • Gifts (prizes or graduation)
  • Richland Tuition
  • Textbooks
  • Administrative costs (duplicating, office supplies)

Application Process

This Fund is available only to RLC TEMM students. Applications may be submitted throughout the year.

  1. Student completes application and submits to Human and Academic Development Division, office Crocket Hall Room 243. (Note: application should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event.)
  2. Application will be reviewed by Human and Academic Development Department. (This process will take about one week.)
  3. Student will be notified of approval.
  4. Student to submit receipts/expense report from meeting or conference.
  5. A check will be sent to the student's address. Process takes about 2 weeks.
