The Richland College Speech Communication Program enables students to develop their communication skills and understand how those skills help them achieve their communication objectives.
As teachers of speech communication, we want to help you improve your skills in interpersonal, group and public communication. Our classes will also address listening skills, conflict-resolution, and self-concept. Communication skills directly affect the quality of our lives; they contribute to successful relationships and help us succeed in careers. You can improve your communication skills and replace speaking apprehension with confident communication in a speech communication course.

- ask questions in class?
- tell your supervisor you cannot work overtime?
- return your defective stereo to the store?
- deliver a well organized effective speech without stammering or shaking?

- understand how cultural and gender differences impact communication?
- take courses that transfer successfully to other colleges and universities?
