The Leadership Richland program provides an opportunity for students to explore and enhance their leadership abilities through working with other students and staff members. As a member you will participate in training sessions, seminars, and hands-on opportunities. The Leadership Richland program is free and open to all Richland College credit students.
Mission
Leadership Richland strives to enhance leadership and foster personal growth.
Objectives
- Develop an understanding of diversity as it relates to leadership;
- Identify a personal philosophy of leadership;
- Demonstrate strategies for articulating a vision;
- Develop an understanding of setting goals, making decision, and building effective teams;
- Understand the role of a leader in initiating change and helping others adjust to change;
- Understand the process of conflict resolution;
- Understand the concept of servant leadership.
Components
- Orientation
- 6 Workshops (Fridays, 3 pm – 6 pm )
- Service Learning (20 hours)
- Participation in a leadership role
- Selected Readings for Leadership Development and Online Discussion
(All components are mandatory to complete Leadership Richland).
