The Leadership Richland program provides an opportunity for students to explore and enhance their leadership abilities through working with other students and staff members. As a member you will participate in training sessions, seminars, and hands-on opportunities. The Leadership Richland program is free and open to all Richland College credit students.

Leadership Richland strives to enhance leadership and foster personal growth.

Objectives

  • Develop an understanding of diversity as it relates to leadership;
  • Identify a personal philosophy of leadership;
  • Demonstrate strategies for articulating a vision;
  • Develop an understanding of setting goals, making decision, and building effective teams;
  • Understand the role of a leader in initiating change and helping others adjust to change;
  • Understand the process of conflict resolution;
  • Understand the concept of servant leadership.

  • Orientation
  • 6 Workshops (Fridays, 3 pm – 6 pm )
  • Service Learning (20 hours)
  • Participation in a leadership role
  • Selected Readings for Leadership Development and Online Discussion
