Mission Statement

Project S.O.A.R., a TRIO Student Support Services program, provides a variety of academic support services to program participants to enable them to persist in college and to achieve their educational and career goals. These free services include academic advisement, tutoring, assistance in financial aid application, campus referrals, and cultural enrichment opportunities.

How can I qualify?

For students to be eligible for Project S.O.A.R. services they must be enrolled at Richland College and meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. First generation student-neither parent has a Bachelor's degree.
  2. Meet federal income guidelines as established by the U.S. Department of Education (Pell Grant recipients are eligible).
  3. Be physically challenged or learning disabled.

Two-thirds of project S.O.A.R.'s participants must meet the first two requirements listed above to be eligible.

  • Cultural Events - World Aquarium, Medieval Times, West End, Symphony

  • Mentor Programs
  • Learning Resources Program
