Searching for VHS & DVD items in the DCCCD Library Catalog
The Library Catalog can be accessed from the Richland Library Website.
Click on either “Find Books” on the purple sidebar or “Books, Media, Etc.” in the first main column.
When the DCCCD Library Catalog screen opens click on “Advanced Search” under “Other Searches.”
The Advanced Keyword Search screen allows you to:
- type in your title or your topic,
- select your location (e.g., Richland),
- select the media format desired (e.g., Video, DVD, etc.).
IMPORTANT: To select more than one “media type” at a time hold down the control key (CTRL) while clicking on each type. Since the college and the District are moving, over the course of several years, from VHS to DVD format for recorded video materials, it is best at this time to search in both formats.
Then click on Submit.
To find items at other campuses, click on the first selection, “ANY,” under “Location” and then select the “Material type(s)” for which you are searching.
The advanced keyword search screen also gives you an option to search by language.
When you retrieve your search results, do not use the “Request” feature. Instead provide the title and the call number of the item needed to Media Distribution at 972-238-6085.
