So that librarians may be better prepared to serve the students, teachers should bring assignment to a librarian, in advance, if it involves library work, so that a librarian can review it to make certain that it can be followed easily by students as it is written. The library’s electronic resources and reference materials change often, and librarians can recommend any changes that may be necessary to eliminate student frustration.
Students: If you have a library assignment that is confusing, please stop by the reference desk for assistance.
Teachers: An advance copy of the assignment will give librarians time to put books together on an "Assignment Alert" cart, order materials, and do all that is needed to locate relevant items to help students get started quickly and on the right foot.
Teachers may stop by the reference desk and drop off a copy of an assignment with the librarian on duty, or they may send an email copy.
Librarians offer this service to all instructors who are teaching classes at Richland College.
