Sustainability in Richland's Strategic Plan

Richlandís strategic plan includes four priority goals, monitored monthly through 16 key performance indicators (KPIs) which are evaluated using 95 measures. KPIs and associated measures related to the Triple Bottom Line of sustainability are incorporated throughout the strategic plan and measurement system. Measurement system.

Environmental Dimensions
KPI 4.3: Operate the college using environmentally sustainable practices, is dedicated exclusively to the environmental dimensions of sustainability. This KPI is evaluated using 5 measures and 6 submeasures of the collegeís progress on this key strategic initiative.

Social Dimensions
Three KPIs are dedicated to the social equity dimension of sustainability:

  • KPI 1.1: Initiate relationships for sustainable community building
  • KPI 2.2: Monitor and improve success for historically under-served student groups
  • KPI 3.4: Proactively manage turnover and diversify the workforce.

Richland tracks performance on this social dimension of sustainability through 36 measures.

Economic Dimensions
Richlandís strategic plan includes four KPIs focused on the economic dimension of sustainability:

  • KPI 1.1: Initiate relationships for sustainable community building
  • KPI 2.1: Monitor and improve success for all students
  • KPI 2.2: Monitor and improve success for historically under-served student groups
  • KPI 4.1: Remain fiscally responsible and sound.

Richland tracks performance on the economic dimension of sustainability through 54 of its 95 measures.
