AASHE Logo

Richland is now an institutional member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, the premier such organization in the U.S. and Canada. Not only does this ally the college with hundreds of peer institutions, it allows employees and students access to a wealth of member-only resources. What You Can Do

Take Action

Think Globally, Eat Locally
Want to eat better, support the local economy, and make a dent in global warming emissions? Buy produce grown within 100 miles of your home. Supermarkets increasingly are selling it and there are many local farmer’s markets—you can even join a Community Supported Agriculture co-op and receive food every week by buying shares in a farmer’s harvest—and yes, there are CSAs in North Texas. Find farmer’s markets, CSAs, and other resources at www.localharvest.org.

Create a GREEN Future for Richland and Beyond

Plan to participate in "Reinventing GREEN at Richland," a Fall 2008 visioning experience that will be open to students and staff. Watch this site for details.
