Financial Aid

How to Apply

To receive Federal Financial Aid, the following general eligibility requirements must be met:

  1. Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  2. Be either a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. *
  3. Selective ServiceI (If you are male.)
  4. Not have been convicted of an offense involving the possession or sale of an illegal substance
  5. Not owe a refund on a Federal grant or be in default on a Federal educational loan.
  6. Have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent on file in the Admissions Office.
  7. Enroll in at least 6 hours for most Financial Aid programs.
  8. Sign up for a netmail email address for notifications and updates. It is highly recommended.
  9. You MUST declare a program of study. To select your program of study, click here.

* If you are not a citizen and therefore are not eligible for federal aid, you may still be eligible for Texas state aid, if you qualify as a Texas resident.

FAFSA Information

  1. Apply for a PIN(www.pin.ed.gov ) (For you and your parents)
  2. Gather all the proper documents
  3. Financial Aid Application Process Funds for applications received after these dates may be limited.
  4. Go to FAFSA online. Richland College's Code: 008504

You will be notified e-mail when you have an award or if there is request for more documentation on eConnect, DCCCD's secure online services (requires login).
