How to Accept a Stafford or PLUS Loan

After approximately 30 business days upon submission of the Stafford Loan application or the PLUS Loan application, the student/parent borrower will receive an e-mail notification from the financial aid office and the loan guarantor, Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation (TGSLC) that the loan is ready to accept online. It is the responsibility of the student to maintain a correct and current e-mail address with the Admissions and Records office.

• Review the award letter for the loan amount and the loan period. If you have questions on this, contact the financial aid office.

• Go online to TG Loans By Web to complete the loan application. You may access TG Loans by Web anywhere you have access to the Internet (on your home computer, in the Del Rio computer lab (room D257), in the Sabine Hall computer lab (S263), or at the Financial Aid Office (T130).
