Angelfire Scholarship
For any student who is a Vietnam Veteran, spouse or child of a Vietnam Veteran, or refugee from Cambodia, Laos, or Vietnam during the 1964 - 1975 time frame. Proof of Record of Service (Form DD214 or its equivalent) or entry documents (such as an I-94, original Arrival/Departure documents with port-of-entry stamp, travel documents with VISA imprints, or Permanent Residency (Green Card) identification) are required for ubmission. The Angelfire scholarship was created to honor those who served in the Vietnam War and is named after a memorial administered by the Disabled American Veterans Association in Angelfire, New Mexico.
A. Patrick Charnon Scholarship
The A. Patrick Charnon Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students who have been accepted to or who are currently enrolled in a four-year college or university. Students who value tolerance, compassion and respect for all people in their communities, and who have demonstrate their commitments to theses values by their actions will be considered for this award. In addition to an official transcript and three letters of recommendation, you must submit a 500 to 1,000 word essay explaining what you would like to do during your undergraduate program or what you would like to accomplish following the completion of your college studies.
All-ink.com College Scholarship Program
The All-Ink.com College Scholarship Program is available to students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university with a minimum 2.5 GPA. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to be considered for this award. To apply for this scholarship, you must submit a 50- to 200-word essay on who has had the greatest impact on your life, and a 50- to 200-word essay on what you hope to achieve in your personal and professional life after college.
Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest
The Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest is open to undergraduate students. To participate, you must read the novel and write an essay on a selected topic that can be found on the Web site. Essays are judged on both style and content. The winning essay must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of the book "Atlas Shrugged."
A World Connected Essay Contest
The A World Connected Essay Contest is available to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are 25 years of age or younger. You must submit an essay of 2500 words or less answering the following question: "Why are some countries rich and others poor? How has globalization contributed to the wealth or poverty of nations?"
Blemfree Online Scholarship Essay Contest
The Blemfree Online Scholarship Essay Contest is available to students who are 18 years of age or older in the U.S. who are currently enrolled in or anticipate acceptance to an accredited college, university or trade school. You must submit an original essay between 800 and 1,000 words with a bibliography. The theme on the essay must be based on the following statement: "Keeping the balance of nature is essential to the future health of the planet. What can one person do to make a difference?"
Christopher College Video Contest
Christopher Video Contest asks you to interpret the theme "One Person Can Make a Difference" on film or video in five minutes or less (all entries must be submitted on VHS cassette). The contest is open to all post-secondary school students currently enrolled in and attending college classes - undergraduate, graduate, full- or part-time. No entries will be returned.
Coca Cola Scholarship
Coca-Cola Scholarships are awarded based on character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated through leadership in school, civic and extracurricular activities, academic achievement, and motivation to serve and succeed.
Collegiate Inventors Competition
The Collegiate Inventors Competition is open to students who have been enrolled full time in a college or university over the past 12 months. You must submit an original idea, process or technology that will be judged on originality and inventiveness, as well as on its potential value to society (socially, environmentally, and economically), and on its range or scope of use. Up to four students may work together as a team. However, only one prize will be awarded per entry.
Dale E. Fridell Memorial Scholarship
The Dale E. Fridell Memorial Scholarship is available to high school seniors and current students attending a two-or four- year college, trade school, technical institute or other post-secondary education program. You must submit an essay between 500-2000 words explaining why you deserve this award. You may not already be receiving or have been awarded a full scholarship from another source to be eligible for this award.
Danny Gandy Memorial Scholarship
The Danny Gandy Memorial Scholarship is available to students at Richland Community College. You must enroll for a minimum of six credit hours of 100-level courses and have a minimum 2.0 GPA to qualify for this award.
Millhollon Educational Trust Estate Loan
The Millhollon Educational Trust Estate Loan is available to Texas residents who are under the age of 25 and are attending an accredited Texas college or university. Your selection is based on financial need and an interview with the trustees in Stanton, TX. The loan is renewable (up to a total of $16,000 for your school career) if you maintain a GPA of 2.5 and enroll in 12 semester hours. The application deadlines are July 1 for the fall and January 2 for the spring.
Monster Scholarship for Business, Science & Engineering
The Monster Scholarship for Business, Science & Engineering is available to students who are majoring in or intend to major in business, science or engineering. You must submit an essay between 250-500 words telling why "today is the day" for you. Your application is judged on academics, school and community involvement, work experience, essay quality and content.
OP Loftbed Scholarship
The OP Loftbed Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are U.S. citizens and who are attending an accredited college or university in the United States. This award is based on your responses to a list of questions found on the sponsor's Web site.
Target All-Around Scholarship
The Target All-Around Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college students who are committed to their communities through volunteer service, education and family involvement. In order to apply, you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a minimum 2.0 GPA. This scholarship is for use at a vocational, technical, 2- or 4-year school. The award is primarily based on your community volunteer hours and volunteer leadership awards and honors. Recipients will be notified on or about February 15. Employees of Target, Dayton Hudson Corp., Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of America, their subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies (and their spouses), parents, children, siblings (and their spouses), and persons living in the same households of employees are not eligible to apply. If you are a previous recipient, you are not eligible to re-apply. Preference is given to to students who reside in a community where a Target store is located.
Textbookx.com Essay Contest
The TextbookX.com Essay Contest is available to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in good standing at an accredited college or university in the U.S. You must be a legal resident of the U.S. or an international student with a valid visa. You must write a 250 to 750-word essay answering the following question: When is war justified? In responding to this question, you must make reference to one book that has had a significant influence on your thoughts. This question can be approached from all areas of study, including, but not limited to, international politics, sociology, psychology, philosophy and biology, among others.
Tylenol Scholarship
The makers of TYLENOL® Family of Products will award ten $10,000 scholarships and 150 $1,000 scholarships for higher education to students who demonstrate leadership in community activities and school activities and major or who intend to major in areas that will lead to careers in health-related fields, and are residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
Utne Reader Online Internship
The Utne Reader Online Internship is open to students who have internet experience. There are five different unpaid internships available in editorial, graphic design, web production, library and marketing. You will be based in Minneapolis, Minnesota throughout the duration of the internship.
