The Electronic Journal for Computer Writing, Rhetoric and Literature
CWRL publishes articles that address computer aided pedagogy in the fields of rhetoric, composition and literature.

Paradigm Online Writing Assistant
Created by writing professor, Chuck Guilford, this site offers editorial assistance to writers. It is organized around a series of exercises that you copy onto your word processor. It covers most of the major stages of writing.

Dictionaries and Word Searches

Merriam Webster Online
Each retrieved word is accompanied by pronunciation, usage, grammatical function, a brief etymoloy, and a definition. A thesaurus can be queried for similar words, hypertext cross references are available, misspellings return suggested spellings, and there are hypertext links to illustrations.

The Oxford English Dictionary
This site is the best resource for a complete history of a word and its usage in different ages.

The LOGOS Dictionary
This site translates dozens of languages simultaneously.

A Web of On-line Dictionaries
This site indexes on-line dictionaries, thesauri, and other sources containing words and phrases.

Roget's Thesaurus
This site is an e-text based on the 1911 edition.

Grammar and Style Notes
This will lead you to a variety of pages that offer help and advice with grammar and style. Many are connected to on-line writing labs where you can also get help and tips on the different stages of the writing process.

The online library for the DCCCD telecourse students, this site offers the only currently available online version of the library handbook (you'll be able to get it from Richland's website as soon as the next edition is out) as well as many similar resources to the Richland library homepage.
