Cadence® University Program Member
Welcome to the home page of the Cadence University Program at Richland College. This page contains information about the Cadence design tools that are an integral part of the Integrated Circuit Layout program in the Engineering Technology department at Richland College.
The Engineering Technology - Integrated Circuit Layout program prepares graduates with the skills necessary to create of integrated circuit (IC) layout drawings using a state-of-the-art CAD environment provided by Cadence Design Systems. The curriculum includes hands-on instruction in digital layout, analog layout, and design verification. The layout core is complemented by instruction in computer applications / programming, electronics, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- DFTG 2313 - Basic Integrated Circuit Design
The study of layout and design of integrated circuits. Instruction in layout technology and laboratory exercises to enable students to layout simple digital integrated circuits from schematic diagrams and design rules.
- DFTG 2333 - Advanced Integrated Circuit Design
Implementation of advanced techniques in the design of complex integrated circuits; projects require students to use multiple sets of design rules meeting industrial standards of current technologies. Instruction in layout technology and laboratory exercises to enable students to layout complex analog integrated circuits from schematic diagrams and design rules.
- DFTG 2376 - Automation Techniques in IC Layout
An advanced course for automated integrated circuit layout techniques. Emphasis on place and route, scripting, and other related topics.
- ENTC 1491 - SKILL Programming
Introductory course to the application of core SKILL programming. The student will utilize a UNIX environment and Cadence software to explore and develop the use of SKILL programming. The student will demonstrate a familiarity of core SKILL, CDBA data model, user interface capabilities, and introductory debug techniques for SKILL programming. The student will explain where using SKILL is applicable. The student will utilize the SKILL syntax, data types, and menus.
