Educational Transitions

College & AVID Connections

Educational Transitions assists in the transition of high school students to a successful college career.

College Connections

College Connections is a college transition program focused on high school seniors who can benefit from guidance while developing a college plan, high school seniors who clearly have identified Richland as the college of their choice, and parents of soon-to-be-college students. This program is in Dallas, Garland and Richardson Independent School Districts and serves 11 high schools.

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Connections

AVID Connections serves high school sophomores participating in AVID programs in the Richardson Independent School District and at Hillcrest High School of the Dallas Independent School District. Students learn college-going skills such as how to complete a college application, where they are on the college-readiness continuum, and are able to determine readiness for Richlandís Dual Credit program where qualified students are able to earn some college credit while still in high school.
