Course Overview

Now that I Have Registered, What Do I Do?

There are many reasons why you may have registered for a distance learning course, but one thing for sure at Richland College: you NEVER have to feel you are alone. Here are some steps to help prepare you for this unique course experience.

Once you have registered:

  1. Follow the directions on your fee receipt or in the course schedule
  2. Log on to eCampus. http://ecampus.dcccd.edu
  3. Find out, according to directions on your fee receipt, if you have to attend on on-campus orientation
  4. Follow the directions your instructor has posted on your eCampus site
  5. Get any necessary materials (textbooks)

First week of class:

  1. Log on to eCampus. http://ecampus.dcccd.edu
  2. Get familiar with your course by navigating the course web page
  3. Email your instructor if you have questions or concerns
  4. Add/drop if mode of instruction is not right for you

While the course is in session:

  1. Keep in contact with your instructor via email or phone
  2. Stay up-to-date with your assignments
  3. Build community with other Internet students through email or group discussions
  4. Check your grades regularly and email instructor if you have any questions
  5. Maintain steady progress - don't disappear for a week and then reappear with an "I'm sorry" email. Prepare and think ahead
  6. Use technical support
  7. Manage your time

End of the course:

  1. Complete all course work
  2. Check your final grade in eConnect
  3. Email your instructor any concerns or questions
  4. REGISTER FOR YOUR NEXT ONLINE COURSE
