Basic Reading Skills Improvement
You should enroll in DREA 0090 if:
- Your placement scores indicate this is the appropriate course.
- You do not have a basic understanding of fundamental reading comprehension and study skills.
- You do not have a basic understanding of critical reading/thinking skills.
Prerequisite:
DREA 0090 is for students whose assessment test scores indicate they need basic reading skills.
Course Description:
This course provides students with an introduction to fundamental reading comprehension skills necessary for success in college and life. The focus is on comprehending main ideas and supporting details. Vocabulary skills and study skills are introduced. In addition, students practice reading skills using software in the computer lab.
