DANC 1345 Modern I
DANC 1341 Ballet I
DANC 1347 Jazz I
DANC 1351 Dance Performance I
Ballet
Basic, traditional ballet structure and terminology for the beginner level dancer with little formal training, to the intermediate and advanced levels of technique.
Jazz
All levels of jazz are offered with emphasis on technique, style, skill, and form.
Modern
A contemporary and creative study of movement and techniques involving time, space, flow, rhythm, and expression.
Tap
Fundamental steps and rhythms are explored in Tap I . More complicated syncopations and styles are studied in Tap II.
Performance I
Instruction and participation in dance performance that includes concepts of approaching work on the concert stage: stage direction, stage areas, and the craft involved in rehearsing and performing are emphasized. This course may be repeated for credit.
Hip Hop
This course explores basic hip hop techniques. Emphasis is on technique development and familiarity with contemporary meters and rhythms. This course may be repeated for credit.
Dance Appreciation
Dance Appreciation is a lecture class and does not require physical activity. This class helps satisfy the Humanities and Visual Performing Arts requirement for an Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree offered by the Dallas County Community College District.

Body Conditioning
Stretching and toning of the dancer's instrument. This class is open to anyone interested in gaining greater strength, flexibility, and balance from a dancer's point of view.
