I approach all students from a strengths based, solution focused perspective. This means that I believe that we each have all of the internal skills and qualities needed to improve our lives and relationships. My job is to help students uncover their personal resources with the intention of creating solutions to overcome obstacles to academic and personal success.
My training is holistic- it integrates contemporary therapy techniques with traditional eastern schools of thought. For my students, this translates into an experience that includes a deeper understanding of the connection between body and mind. Special areas of expertise include healthy relationships, issues related to women, substance abuse treatment and mind/body therapeutic interventions aimed at increasing physical/emotional health and balance. My current areas of interest include research related the treatment of anxiety related disorders using yoga and art therapy techniques.
