CompTIA certifications are the recognized industry standards for foundation-level information technology (IT) skills. Many of these certifications are electives or prerequisites toward advanced certifications, such as Cisco's CCNA. Certification training for A+ , Network+, and Security+ is available at Richland College, Continuing Education.
A+ Certification Training
As technology changes so does the role of the computer support professional. As a result of these changes, the entry-level IT technician who completes training and receives the A+ certification demonstrates competency in preventative maintenance, basic networking, installation, troubleshooting, customer service and communications skills to work with clients.
Network+ Certification Training
After the completion of Network+ training and certification, the network professional is able to demonstrates a technical ability and competency in managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, operating and configuring basic network infrastructures.
Security+ Certification Training
A prerequisite to this course is a solid understanding of computer operating systems and networks. After the completion of Security+ training and certification, the security professional is able to demonstrate system security, network infrastructure, cryptography, assessments and audits.
