General Education Development

Richland College trains students for passing the General Education Development test, preparing them for vocational training, college, and/or employment.

Training benefits employers as it meets the need for workers with the right core skills and
knowledge to keep pace with technological change. It includes math, science, reading,
writing, communications, computer concepts, analysis, problem-solving, teamwork, and
organizational skills – all in a professional environment.

Training benefits the worker as it offers them the opportunity for a better paying job with
stability. They receive communications, time management, leadership, financial
management, and computer classes to prepare them for success in the workplace.

During training student may be eligible for transportation and childcare assistance.
Potential students for the Workforce Training program must be 17 – 21 years of age meet
program guidelines.

Funding for this program provided by Workforce Solutions of Greater Dallas for all
candidates that meet eligibility requirements.
