This presentation is a great way to show the similarities and differences between the U SA and your home country All Presentations will be scheduled for April, 2010 during the Intercultural Festival Week.
3. World Religions Forum: Islam – Buddhist – Hinduism and Christian
Students and Instructors will have a presentation and a tour at the main religions temples in Dallas. Dates and locations to be announce
Students and teachers will meet the Deputy Consul of Turkey, Ali Findik, enjoy a great Turkish lunch, and see the 2009 Power Points developed by teachers who recently visited Turkey over the summer.
Good opportunity to get a recent perspective on this dynamic country and speak to a government official.

5. World Fest (Volunteer Opportunities Available)
Presented by the Town of Addison and World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, this two-day celebration will feature the best in international music, exhibitions, food, games, markets and children’s activities.
Highlights of this year’s festival include the International marketplace, foods and drinks from around the world, global games, film shorts showcase, multipleperformance stages, children’s workshops, Parade of Nations and headlining acts Brave Combo and the Killdares.
Great chance to see the international community of North Texas comes together. Many countries will be represented, showing the diversity of the community here in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Daylong event designed for students aged 9-13 featuring African dance, music, cultural presentations, Hands-on African-inspired art projects, a geography quiz game, African storytelling and even African animals from the Dallas Zoo.
Nice service-learning opportunity to see students learn more about sub-Saharan Africa. Also, this program is an enjoyable way to help bring international education to North Texan students.

These museums offer a good perspective on the history of Dallas as a city, both in modern and earlier times. All museums are centrally located near each other.
8. State Fair of Texas (Volunteer Opportunities Available)

This annual event is a sight to see as it celebrates the best in Texas.
9. Fort Worth Stockyards (Volunteer Opportunities Available)
The Stockyards are living memory of Fort Worth’s cowboy past and present. They offer an authentic look at cowboy life.
