Submit Transcripts and Test Score Reports to the Admissions OfficeNew-to-college students
Submit official high school transcript, GED or copy of your diploma to Admissions immediately after applying to the college. This is a mandatory requirement to receive Financial Aid, but may not be required for attendance.
Transfer Students
Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended immediately after applying for admission. This is a mandatory requirement in order to receive Financial Aid and a DCCCD requirement. Financial Aid students will not receive an award of any kind without submission of a high school transcript or previous college transcript(s).
Placement
Recent SAT/ACT/TAKS or Texas State Initiative (TSI) assessment scores can be submitted to the admissions office to determine whether assessment testing will be required.

Apply For Financial AidGo to www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete your Financial Aid application. Apply EARLY as it can take up to 8 weeks from the date that verification documents are received in the Financial Aid Office for your financial aid to be determined or awarded.
• Financial aid awards are dispersed through a DCCCD money card that you will receive several weeks after verifying your address on the DCCCD Money Card Address Verification link on the eConnect website (www.econnect.dcccd.edu). Your DCCCD Student ID is required to login to eConnect.Please note: If your Financial Aid has not been awarded by your payment deadline, you are responsible for paying your tuition by the due date. Students will be dropped from their classes regardless of their Financial Aid status if their tuition is unpaid by the due date. AssessmentNew to College Students
Your next step is to take the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Placement Test.
The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) test assesses your basic academic skills in reading, writing, math, and computer literacy. Based on your educational goals, an advisor will use the results of this test to help place you in the appropriate developmental, student success course, and/or college level courses.

This website is available to you at any computer with internet access. A printer connection is needed to print your Test Referral. Computers and printers are available for your use on campus at T180A (eConnect room) and E090 (Career Center).
You may sign up for an OAR Session at any time, but you must be accepted as a student and complete the assessment process before attending the OAR session.
Transfer or Former Students
Submit official transcripts from all regionally accredited colleges or universities attended outside of the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD). (This is DCCCD Board Policy regardless of whether or not you intend to earn a degree at Richland.) The transcripts will be reviewed to determine if TSI requirements are met. If additional assessment testing is required to meet certain course placement or prerequisites, see an academic advisor. You may only test one time per semester. OrientationOur commitment to your success as a new to college student begins with requiring you to attend Richland’s Orientation, Advisement, and Registration - OAR Session, which is designed to assist you in making a smooth transition into college life. You will be registering for classes at the OAR Session; therefore, you must have completed an application for admission and have taken assessment tests before attending the session.

Transfer, Transient, Returning, or Former Students
Partnering with an academic advisor is vital to your success as a student. Students are seen primarily on a drop-in basis during peak registration time periods. Please allow a MINIMUM of two hours for advisement and registration. The process may take longer during busy peak registration time periods. Students who have the academic standing of academic probation or academic suspension or who are on financial aid warning may wait longer to see a special advisor during busy registration periods.
You may be eligible to self-advise and register online. Log into www.eConnect.dcccd.edu to view requirements. Please refer to the Self-Advising Guide at www.richlandcollege.edu/paperfree for helpful information regarding self-advisement.

To participate in academic advising, you must have an Advising Report that has been printed within 48 hours of your session. Print your Advising Report online through eConnect or obtain a copy at the front counter of the Admissions Office, T-170. Students will be dropped from their classes if payment is not made by the due date.
