Spring 2010

Winter Term - Classes meet December14-18, 21-23, January 4-8, 2010
Spring Term- Classes begin January 19, end May 13

Friday only classes starting 5 p.m. or after begin January 22.

Saturday only classes begin January 23.

Sunday only classes begin January 24.

Students on academic suspension or dismissal must meet in T180 with a suspension advisor to determine registration eligibility. Extended registration is not available for students on suspension or dismissal. For advising availability see www.richlandcollege.edu/admissions. All students with GPA’s below 2.0 are required to register for classes prior to the first day of classes.

  • Continuing students - M-F, November 17 - January 18*
  • New, Former & Transfer students - M-F, November 23 - January 18*
  • Saturday Registration, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m - January 17
    * Online registration only on January 17 - 18.

After admission to the college, new students should obtain their Advising Report from Admissions (T170) or from eConnect, and take it to an academic advisor in Thunderduck Hall to receive a referral for assessment testing in reading, writing and mathematics. Practice tests for the Accuplacer Test are available online at www.richlandcollege.edu/testcenter. Assessments will take place in Medina Hall, M105 at times listed on the student’s assessment test referral form. Assessment testing is required to determine readiness for college-level courses. The Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) Test will be administered at Richland on Feb. 27 and April 24. Call the Test Center at 972-238-6160 for Alternate or Quick THEA dates and times.

Students in Good Academic Standing- January 19 - 20

Students who register for the first time during extended registration may have course selection restrictions. Students may not register for semester-length courses that have met twice. Other registration limitations exist for flex term and fast track classes.

Students with less than 2.0 GPA- Not Allowed

Tuition payment is due on the date printed on the student’s Registration Summary. If you do not pay by the deadline, your classes may be dropped. Full tuition payment can be made at drop box, cashier windows or online. Set up an installment payment plan online at http://econnect.dcccd.edu or in person at a cashier windows. Payment plans must be set up by January 22. Classes cannot be added to the payment plan after this date. Students may also pay tuition at the cashier windows in Thunderduck Hall. Students who have applied for financial aid should be prepared to pay from personal resources if aid is not received by the due date on the Registration Summary.

For Winter term classes:

  • Last day to drop a class without a "W"- Wednesday, December 16
  • Last day to drop a class with a "W"- Monday, January 4

For sixteen week classes:

  • Last day to drop a class without a “W” - Monday, February 1
  • Last day to drop a class with a “W” - Thursday, April 15
  • Check your Registration Summary for Friday, Weekend, Flex Terms and Fast Track drop deadlines.

Refunds may take up to 30 days to process. To receive a 100% refund you must drop before the first day of the semester.

For sixteen week classes withdraw:

  • Before January 19 - 100% refund
  • January 19 - February 4 - 70% refund
  • February 5 - 10 - 25% refund
  • On or After February 11 - No refund

For flex term, fast track and mini-mester classes:

Students must withdraw PRIOR to the first class day of the semester to receive a 100% refund. If your class does not start on the first day of the semester and end on the last day of the semester, your refund dates could be different than the ones listed above. Please contact the Admissisons Office or Business Office for the refund schedule.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day - January 18
  • District Conference Day/Staff Development Day* - March 4-5
  • Spring Break - March 15 - 19
  • Spring Holiday - March 19

*Evening classes on Thursday, March 4, will NOT meet. Classes on Friday night, March 5, will NOT meet. Saturday and Sunday classes will meet. For information on your particular weekend class, contact the division office or your instructor. College offices are open on Friday, March 5.
