Spring 2013

Classes Begin/End

Winter Term - Classes meet December 17-21, January 2-11, 2013
Spring Term- Classes begin January 22, end May 16

Friday only classes starting 5 p.m. or after begin January 25.

Saturday only classes begin January 26.

Sunday only classes begin January 27.

• Continuing students - M-F, November 20 - January 16
• New, Former & Transfer students - M-F, November 26 - January 16
• Drop & Adds only- Thursday - Friday, January 17 - 18
• Saturday Registration, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Saturday, January 12
• Spring Flex Term Class Registration - January 22 - May 1, 2013


• Online Registration:
• Continuing Students - November 20 - January 16
• New, former and transfer students - November 26 - January 16
• Drop & Adds only - Thursday, January 17 - Mon., January 21

Beginning Tuesday, January 22, 2013 any student in good standing who does not have any restrictions, blocks or holds on their student record can resume registration activities for flex classes that have not met. Students with a GPA less than 2.0 have additional limitations. For additional information, go to www.richlandcollege.edu/advising.

Probation/Suspension Registration Dates

All students with a GPA1 below a 2.0 must have met with a suspension advisor and be registered for their classes by the dates listed below.

• Students with a GPA below 2.0 with an existing AV block (students that miss this deadline must contact their advisor)
  No later than January 4, 2013


• Students with a GPA below 2.0 with no existing AV block
  No later than January 11, 2013

Assessment

Assessment testing will take place in Medina Hall, M105 at times listed on the student’s assessment test referral form. View THEA Test dates at www.thea.nesinc.com. Call the Test Center at 972-238-6160 for Alternate or Quick THEA dates and times or go to www.richlandcollege.edu/testcenter.

Final Exams

Final Exams: May 13 - 16

Drop Deadlines

For Winter term classes:

• Last day to drop a class without a "W"- Wednesday, December 19
• Last day to drop a class with a "W"- Tuesday, January 8

For sixteen week classes:

• Last day to drop a class without a “W” - Monday, Feb. 4
• Last day to drop a class with a “W” - Thursday, April 18
  Check your Registration Summary for Friday, Weekend, Flex Terms and Fast Track drop deadlines.

Refund Dates

Refunds may take up to 30 days to process. To receive a 100% refund you must drop before the first day of the semester.

For sixteen week classes withdraw:

• Before January 22- 100% refund
• January 22 - February 7 - 70% refund
• February 8 - 13 - 25% refund
• On or After February 14 - No refund

For flex term, fast track and mini-mester classes:

Students must withdraw PRIOR to the first class day of the semester to receive a 100% refund. If your class does not start on the first day of the semester and end on the last day of the semester, your refund dates could be different than the ones listed above. Please contact the Admissisons Office or Business Office for the refund schedule.

Holidays - No Classes/Admissions/Registration

Campus Closed to Students/Faculty/Staff: All campus buildings will be closed and no wireless access available on:

• Thanksgiving Holiday - November 22 - 25
• Winter Break - 5pm, December 21, 2012 - 6am, January 2, 2013
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day - January 21
• Employee Development Day - Feb. 21
• District Day of Service*-February 22
  * Evening classes on Thurs., February 21 will NOT meet. Friday evening, Sat., and Sun.
• Spring Break - March 18 - 22
• Spring Holiday - March 29
